The Blueberry Bun Principle

One thing I've noticed.

People rarely remember entire trips.

They remember moments.

The coffee before the run.

The view from the ridge.

The friend who made them laugh.

The burger afterwards.

The blueberry bun in Åre.

What's funny is that the blueberry bun was never really the point.

If I had eaten the same bun at home on a random Tuesday, it would have just been a bun.

What made it special was everything that came before it.

The climb.

The trail.

The uncertainty.

The effort.

The adventure.

I think destinations sometimes focus too much on attractions and too little on moments.

Because in the end, most of us don't remember places.

We remember how they made us feel.
